Evelyn Pavlova

LMHC

Hello! My name is Evelyn. I'm an Eastern European cis-female, embracing my identity as an asexual and aromantic human. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

My goal as a therapist is to create an atmosphere for you to be yourself, free from any reservations or worries about judgment, shame, or rejection. Regardless of your worldview or beliefs, you will always be validated and accepted in my space. Yet, I will also add some challenges and honest feedback to help you grow, evolve, and blossom. My connection with you is first human to human, and only then therapist to client. I embrace a metaphysical perspective on life and existence because there is much more than we can perceive with our five senses!

Do any of these statements apply to you?

"I feel tired, unmotivated, tense, irritated, moody, hopeless, lonely, confused, and/or overwhelmed."

"I struggle in my relationships with others because I have a hard time saying no, setting boundaries, or expressing my needs and true feelings."

"People tend to ask a lot from me, and it's exhausting. Sometimes I feel like people are taking advantage of my kindness."

"I often criticize or say negative things about myself or feel like others are better than I am."

"I am not sure what I am supposed to do in this life, why I am here, or what the meaning of it all is."

"I am not sure where I am going, or how to get there."

"I am unclear about who I am or who I want to be."

"It is hard for me to accept change and uncertainty."

"I have gone through painful losses, and my heart still hurts. I feel like I'm stuck or that I should be further ahead in my grieving."

It is not uncommon for our challenges to be traced back to a lack of self-acceptance, limited self-awareness, resistance to life's natural flow, porous boundaries, internal struggles with deep-seated fears, and unexamined values.

I am here to guide you through these and various other areas to enhance your well-being and life satisfaction. You are not broken, there is nothing inherently wrong with you, nor do you need to be fixed; in certain aspects, you just might need more balance and flexibility.

My unique journey, immersed in the cultures and languages of Estonia, Russia, Israel, and the United States, along with my engagement with the LGBTQIAP+ communities, has heightened my sensitivity to the importance and value of multiculturalism. This exposure has deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by different groups within the LGBTQIAP+ and immigrant communities.

On a spiritual and metaphysical note, my doctoral work has provided me with knowledge and insight into the process of death, the nuances of grief, and life between lives. For those open to such perspectives, this understanding can be very helpful and even transformative.

Therapy can be anxiety-provoking as it involves stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing something different; however, by challenging yourself and investing in this journey, you open the door to potentially life-changing rewards! Congratulations on taking the first step toward exploring the possibility of therapy! I'm looking forward to our journey together!
