Hello! My name is Evelyn. I'm a cis-female, identifying as asexual and aromantic. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
My goal as a therapist is to create space for you to be yourself, without reservations or fears of judgment, shame, or rejection. No matter how you see the world or what your beliefs are, you will always be validated and accepted in my space. Yet, I will also add some challenge and honest feedback to our work together to help you grow, evolve, and blossom. I welcome a metaphysical perspective on life and existence - there is so much more than we can perceive with our five senses!
Do any of these statements apply to you?
"I feel tired, unmotivated, tense, irritated, moody, hopeless, lonely."
"I struggle in my relationships with others because I have a hard time saying no or setting boundaries."
"People tend to ask a lot from me and it's exhausting."
"I often criticize or say negative things about myself, or feel like others are better than I am."
"I am not sure what I am supposed to do in this life, why I am here, or what the meaning of it all is."
"I am not sure where I am going, or how to get there."
"I am unclear about who I am or who I want to be."
"It is hard for me to accept change and uncertainty."
"I have gone through painful losses and my heart still hurts."
Many of our struggles stem from lack of self-acceptance and self-compassion, limited self-awareness, resistance to life's natural flow, unhealthy boundaries, fights with various deep-seated fears, and unclear values. I can help you navigate these and various other areas to enhance your well-being and life satisfaction. You are not broken, there is nothing wrong with you, nor do you need to get fixed – in some areas you just might need more balance and flexibility.
The history of living in and being exposed to the cultures and languages of Estonia, Russia, Israel, and the United States, as well as having had the privilege to be immersed in the LGBTQIAP+ community has sensitized me to the importance and value of multiculturalism. I have a better understanding of the struggles that different groups in the LGBTQIAP+ community experience. I also provide education and training to groups and individuals about the LGBTQIAP+ community.
Therapy can be anxiety-provoking because it involves stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing something different; however, if you challenge yourself for this journey, you'll open yourself up for many rewards that can be life-changing! Congratulations on taking the first step of exploring the possibility of therapy! I'm looking forward to working with you!
