
Dr. Camach-Acevedo completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Ponce Health Sciences University, in Puerto Rico. The doctoral program and pre-doctoral internship were accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
During her years of clinical practice and internship, she offered individual, family and group therapies to children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. she has experienced doing neurodevelopmental, psychodiagnostic, psychometric and psychoeducational evaluations. She has had the opportunity to work with different disorders such as depression, anxiety, learning disability, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), behavioral disorders, bipolar disorder, and many others. She performed screenings and evaluations of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In addition, she offered individual, family and group therapy to clients with ASD.
She practiced in different settings: an hospital (inpatient), community centers (outpatient) and an autism center (outpatient). During her Ph.D., she had the opportunity to be an assistant professor, she participated in several researches and she made multiple professional presentations in different universities and conventions.
